Monday 24th January 2023
On Sunday we continued our new sermon series looking at some of the promises found in the Bible. We explored Ephesians 6:10-20 and looked at how we can find strength in God when we feel weak. If you missed out, you can catch up here. Next week we will be thinking about God’s promise to be with us.
On Friday evening (27th) we are holding The Big Quiz Night in aid of Tearfund. These Quiz Nights are always enjoyable and you can book as a group (maybe your Connect Group or with a group of friends) or come on your own and we will allocate you a group to join. More details are on the website here.
A number of people are now going to New Wine (week A) and we’d love others to come too. New Wine is in a new venue (Maidstone in Kent) so it’s not too far for us to travel. It is also shorter, running from Wednesday 26th – Sunday 30th July which means that we don’t need to take a whole week of annual leave to attend. New Wine has always proved a good experience for those of us who have attended and whether you camp, hire a caravan or stay in a local hotel/B&B you will have a great time. More details are here or do speak to Ruth Robinson direct. Tickets are cheaper if you book before 31st January.
As you know we run a Fairtrade stall on the first Sunday of each month. Sadly, Traidcraft who supply these products, has gone into administration - another victim of the pandemic and effects of the war in Ukraine. We still have stock to sell and so will continue with a stall for the coming months. Sad as this is, all supermarkets now sell a wide range of fairly traded products so do look out and buy them when you can.
On Sunday (29th) we have our usual services at 9am and 10.30am. The 10.30am service will have Holy Communion and children’s groups as usual. I look forward to seeing you then.
With my love
Steve
