Vicar's Update

Monday 20th February 2023

Yesterday we concluded our sermon series looking at some of the promises found in the Bible as Ian Jamieson helped us think about God’s promise to forgive us our sinsYou can catch up here.

Thanks to all those who have been volunteering at the Winter Night Shelter on a Friday night/Saturday morning, to those who have been cooking and those taking washing home on a Sunday and to Sue Charlton who coordinates it all.  This weekend will be our last session but please do continue to pray for our guests who face many challenges in life.

This weekend we also have our children’s party on Saturday (25th) afternoon.  If you have forgotten to book but would like your family to attend, please contact Morgen Edwards admin@ststephens-ealing.org  as soon as possible.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (22nd February) and we will be marking the day by holding Communion Services at 10am and 8pm.  Both will provide the opportunity to receive a mark of ash on your forehead as a sign of repentance – do come if you can.

Caroline Newbold is running a Lent group on Wednesday evenings at the Vicarage starting on 1st March, particularly aimed at those not currently attending a Connect group.  To know more or to sign up contact Caroline caroline@ststephens-ealing.org.

Next Sunday (26th February) we have our usual services at 9am and 10.30am, both with Communion and children and youth groups at 10.30am.  We will also be beginning a new sermon series for Lent looking at some healthy habits that we can all adopt to help us grow closer to God – this week reading the Bible.
