Monday 27th February 2023
We have had a busy weekend hosting the Winter Night Shelter on Friday evening, a party for our children on Saturday, and a lunch for our youth families yesterday. All this was alongside our usual Sunday services when we launched a new sermon series for Lent looking at practices that we can adopt to help us grow closer to God. Caroline Newbold helped us to think about how we read the Bible, you can catch up here.
Also yesterday we marked Geoffrey Nolan’s 90th birthday. Geoffrey first came to St Stephen’s in 1945 and apart from when he lived overseas has been coming ever since. Geoffrey still contributes to Church life by reading at the 9am service and serving as a Trustee on the St Luke’s Trust. Happy birthday Geoffrey.
As we have now finished our running of the Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped host, cook, clean, wash linen and transport beds across the Borough - you are all very much appreciated. Thanks particularly to Sue Charlton who has so effectively coordinated, managed and worked hard throughout these weeks. We still have an URGENT need, however, for someone with a large car to transport bedlinen and blankets to Greenford this coming Friday morning. If you can help please contact Sue Charlton (sacharlton@btinternet.com).
Next Sunday (5th March) we have our usual services at 9am and 10.30am – the 10.30am service is All Age Worship. We also have our monthly Fair trade Stall so come prepared to support this important work.
Have a good week
Steve
