It was great to host Archdeacon Catherine at our services yesterday and such an encouragement to us as she spoke from Ruth 2 about the growth in relationships we can have with one another through challenging times. If you missed it, you can catch up here. This Sunday we have Revd. Nicki Sudworth from Oak Tree church in Acton coming to preside at 9am and we also have a guest speaker, Richard Todd from our mission partner LAMB coming to speak to us about their work providing healthcare to women and children who struggle to afford it.
Curates are required to do a chaplaincy placement in their second year and so I am away this week from Thursday to Sunday being part of the chaplaincy team at Download Festival in Donington Park, Leicestershire. This is a hard rock, heavy metal and punk festival with a capacity of 111,000 people! My ordained friend who was on the team last year said it was an amazing experience and that he had great conversations with various festival goers and opportunities to pray with people. I would love it if you could pray for me and for those I meet whilst I am away, it's not my preferred music style so will be out of my comfort zone a fair bit!!
I also wanted to share a couple of prophetic words that were received in the service yesterday, but we didn't have time to share. Please prayerfully consider if these are for you:
-
A sense that someone is not hearing God and he is calling them to spend some time with him in nature.
-
An image of feet on sand. The sand is shifting and the feet are slowly sinking but there is a rock a step away. A sense that someone needs to take that first step on to the rock.
God bless and have a great week!
Ruth
