Curates Update

Monday 15th July 2024

What a wonderful time of prayer we had with the 24/7 Prayer Event last week! I think the abiding sense that I have been hearing is about the peace people experienced as they prayed and worshipped. I sense this has been God's gift to us in this season with the uncertainty of being in vacancy and with some challenging things happening for many members at the moment. I pray that we will carry that peace with us into the summer and beyond. So many thanks to the fantastic team who helped: Dinos, Enid, Monika, Jack, Morgen, Stephen, the Marks (Robinson and Churley) and Margaret.

This Sunday we have a guest speaker from our Mission Partner Christian Solidarity Worldwide speaking at both services and it will be great to hear all about their work. The 10:30am service is not being streamed.

Starting on 28th July and through August, we are in our Summer Sunday service pattern. This means we have a 10am whole church service with cafe time afterwards. There will be communion every week and a mix of traditional and contemporary music. Please make a note in your diaries so you don't miss out!

Ann informed us on Sunday that the advert for our new vicar was in the Church Times last week and encouraged us to be praying for the right person to apply. It is exciting to think that they are out there somewhere thinking of whether to click on the application form.

Finally, on Sunday 11 August Mark and I would like to invite you to a 'Cake with the Curate' Open House. Feel free to pop in for a cup of tea and a piece of cake at any time after 2pm and we will chuck out any lingerers at 7pm! (just don't all come at once, we might not fit!!)

God bless and have a great week!
