Sleeves Up Saturday
This Saturday 10th May we are holding a Spring Clean. Suitable for the whole family. Drop in between 9am-noon for as little or as long as you can.
Annual Meeting
Our AGM is next Sunday 18th May at 6.30pm and will be followed by refreshments. This is an important meeting where we can see how the church is doing and our Vicar, David, can share his thoughts for the coming months. The papers are here.
At this meeting we will need to elect the roles below to our Church Council. Nominations are now open for the following:
-
2 Churchwardens to serve for 1 year
-
3 PCC members to serve for 3 years
-
1 Deanery Synod member for 1 year
Please think, pray and talk to friends and family about whether you would like to stand. Or perhaps you might nominate someone else who would like to stand.
David is particularly keen to chat with anyone who feels a possible calling to be a churchwarden, as neither current churchwarden is able to stand again this year. Queries to David Baylor or PCC Secretary Jane Maffett.
Christian Aid Week 2025
Saturday 10th - the 'Freedom Walk' from St. Martin's-in-the-Fields at 12 noon to St. Paul's Cathedral at 5pm for evensong. Join them for a great afternoon. Lots of activities for kids. Sponsor us. Let Sue Charlton know by Friday 9th if you'd like to join them. They'll travel together from Ealing Broadway at 11am.
Sunday 11th - sales of Plants and Books during Café time and after the 10.30 service. We need any seedlings, plants and books to sell, and lots of us to buy too! Come for a bargain
Through the week: some of us will be delivering 'delivery-only' Christian Aid envelopes in streets around our Parish. Our plan is to post through 1,500 letterboxes altogether, letting people know what Christian Aid is doing to support people in Guatemala suffering from the effects of Climate Change. Please let me know if you can help distribute some.
Friday 16th: 2pm Christian Aid talk and Quiz at Tea Timers
Sunday 18th: sales of cakes and jigsaws & tabletop games during Café and after the 10.30 service. Please bring some for sale and well as buy!
And at 3-4.30pm Concert from Coro followed by Tea and Cakes; Helen Vickery's choir offering a lovely collection of music to enjoy. Come and bring family and/or friends.
And finally, please sponsor Sue Charlton for walking 70K in May (donate as above). Very many thanks, Sue Charlton 07908840954
Let's show our love for Christ by sharing some of what we have with farmers in Guatemala!
Foodbank
Food Bank is urgently in need of donations of tinned ready meals, fish, vegetables, cereals, rice etc. Food is having to be rationed further to those referred to Food Bank. Please consider buying an extra tin or two when buying your weekly shop, or donating money to www.ealing.foodbank.org.uk helping bulk buys of emergency food. Please no bottles of water, sugary drinks or pet foods. We have no refrigeration, so donations have to be long-life, tinned or dry. Bring to church anytime or drop into dedicated boxes at checkout in local supermarkets. Latest Shopping List.
Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter/Ealing Half Marathon
Winter Night Shelter has identified continuing need to fundraise, and have secured several places for the Ealing Half Marathon to be held at the end of September. Our own Lizzie Rainbow has taken up one place, and we are looking for anyone else who'd like to join her and other runners (or walkers!) on the ECWNS team. It's a great event, winding it's route through our parks and local streets, where we and other churches provide Water Stations. Please get back to either Lizzie or Sue Charlton if you're tempted!
Funeral of Doris Beavis
The funeral of Doris will be held at St Stephen's on Thursday 22nd May at 12pm. Further details to follow.
Lent Appeals
A big 'thank you' to those who contributed to our 2 appeals in lent. We are sending £1,343.75 to the Diocesan Lent Appeal for Climate projects in Africa. And we provided 72 Real Easter Eggs to the Marylebone Project for women (run by the Church Army), with an additional £66.25 in late donations being sent as well.
Parish Prayer
These are the streets in our parish we are praying for this fortnight – please do pray for all who live there and for people to come to know Jesus.

Prayer for the Week
Risen Christ,
faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep:
teach us to hear your voice
and to follow your command,
